I've always used to wonder
When I was younger
Why the sun had all the attention
While the moon was showered rejection
Intrigued as I grew older
I still couldn't help but wonder
Why the sun was loved for its glory and light
While the moon was only cherished at night
Many would choose the sun in a heartbeat
Joyful, glowing, its beams radiating to those in need of it
Some would choose the stars bedazzling the sky
A symbol of hope to reach for your dreams high
What does the moon offer but silence and tranquility
Yet it's perfect in all its form and hidden beauty
I'm certain that if the moon was a person, you would be it
And undeniably, I will always choose you in a heartbeat
